August Rush

In Kenneth Branagh’s “August Rush,” Evan, a prodigious orphan endowed with a singular musical gift, escapes the confines of his orphanage to traverse the labyrinthine streets of New York in search of his estranged birth parents. Along the way, he encounters the enigmatic Wizard, a vagrant who shelters Evan in an abandoned theater and anoints him “August Rush,” leveraging the boy’s talent for his own ends.
