Ballerina

Set in 1879 Paris, "Ballerina" follows a rural orphan who dreams of ballet stardom. Fleeing Brittany for the city, she assumes a new identity to secure a place as a pupil at the prestigious Paris Opéra Ballet. The film captures the harsh realities and relentless ambition of life in a strict, hierarchical dance institution, where identity and survival are constantly at stake.
