Barbarella

Jean Rollin's script for Barbarella, adapted from Jean-Claude Forest's comic, unfolds in a future where sexuality is both weapon and currency. Jane Fonda stars as the titular heroine, a space-age adventuress sent to track down and neutralize the nefarious Durand-Durand. Her odyssey through a cosmos of bizarre encounters and alien landscapes is a surreal, visually opulent critique of Cold War politics and sexual liberation, rendered with Roger Diodati's vibrant art direction and Michel Constantin's whimsical score.
