Ben Cash, a radical parent in the woods of the Pacific Northwest, raises his six children with a Spartan regime of physical prowess and intellectual rigour. When circumstances force them to confront the outside world, Ben’s ideals are tested, and the family must navigate the complexities of modern life. Director Matt Ross frames this confrontation as a nuanced critique of societal norms and the lengths to which one might go to protect the innocence of childhood.
