Centurion

In A.D. 117 Britain, Quintus Dias, the lone survivor of a Pictish massacre at a Roman outpost, joins General Virilus's Ninth Legion on a punitive mission to annihilate the Picts and their chieftain, Gorlacon. As the legion advances into the Caledonian wilderness, the film interrogates the brutalities of Roman imperialism and the resilience of indigenous resistance, casting doubt on the empire's invincibility amidst the unforgiving landscape and the cunning of its adversaries.
