The Chabot College Music Department celebrated the winter season with its flagship annual holiday showcase, bringing an evening of high-energy, hard-swinging big band jazz and festive cheer to the East Bay. Ellona Santiago: The powerhouse Filipino-American vocalist and San Lorenzo native returned to the Chabot stage to front the big band. Widely recognized for her standout run on Season 3 of The X Factor USA (where she finished 6th overall under the mentorship of Demi Lovato), Santiago brought her dynamic vocal range and soulful energy to a selection of holiday classics and jazz standards. April Absynth: The versatile vocalist, recording artist, and actress brought her immense dramatic presence and smooth vocal delivery back to the Chabot stage. Widely recognized for her series-regular role as Jacque on the TV series Blindspotting and her extensive leading theatrical work, she added a stellar layer of star power and storytelling to the festive setlist.
