Days of Being Wild

Days of Being Wild, Wong Kar-wai’s lyrical debut, charts the meandering path of Yuddy, a roguish Hong Kong playboy whose charm masks a restless soul. After learning that the woman who raised him isn’t his biological mother, Yuddy’s search for identity collides with the lives of those he has wronged, including the sister of his best friend, Leslie, and the woman he has left pregnant. Through fragmented narratives and dreamlike sequences, the film captures a city in flux, where connections are fleeting and nostalgia clings to the edges of memory.
