In 2008, Defiance recounts the harrowing tale of four Jewish brothers who flee their Nazi-occupied homeland in West Belarus, Poland, to join Soviet partisans in the forest. Amidst the brutal winter and constant threat of German retaliation, the brothers orchestrate the daring rescue of approximately 1,200 Jews trapped in the Polish ghettos, transforming the dense woodland into a sanctuary and battleground for survival and defiance.
