“You get what you pay for.”
Drillbit Taylor, a low-budget comedy from 2008, follows three high school freshmen who hire a penniless drifter to fend off a sociopathic bully. Their unwitting protector turns out to be a petty thief masquerading as a security expert, leading to a series of chaotic encounters that blend physical comedy with heartfelt moments of teenage vulnerability. Owen Wilson's titular character, despite his dubious credentials, gradually earns the trust of his young charges, delivering a film that skewers both suburban anxieties and the absurdity of vigilante justice.
