Facing death... a vigilante against an avenger.

Face to Face (1967) is a stark character study of intellectual corruption set in the American West. History professor Brad Fletcher, seeking respite from illness, encounters Solomon Bennett’s band of outlaws. Initially intrigued by their lawless existence, Fletcher gradually immerses himself in their world, eventually usurping Bennett’s leadership with a cold, calculated efficiency that starkly contrasts the spontaneous chaos of his predecessors. Director J. Lee Thompson crafts a tense, morally ambiguous tale of power and moral decay, anchored by a nuanced performance from Richard Burton.
