When the streets are a jungle... There can only be one king.

Lionheart (1990) casts a hard-edged gaze on the American underbelly through the eyes of Lyon Gaultier, a disillusioned Foreign Legion deserter down on his luck in the States. Upon discovering his brother near death and his sister-in-law struggling to scrape together medical bills and support her child, Gaultier opts for the brute force solution: entering into perilous underground fights to earn the cash. Director Daniel Mann frames these violent encounters as grim necessities, stripping away any glamor to expose the raw desperation fueling them.
