Mirror Mirror

Tarsem Singh’s “Mirror Mirror” (2012) reimagines the Snow White fairy tale as a dazzling, if derivative, spectacle. Lily Collins stars as the titular heroine, a plucky princess whose kingdom is usurped by the extravagantly wicked Queen Ravenna (Julia Roberts), who plots to marry a prince to consolidate her power. Snow White, with the aid of seven rogue dwarves, navigates a world of magic mirrors and enchanted apples, culminating in a climactic showdown that upends expectations. Despite its glossy visuals and spirited performances, the film succumbs to formula, offering little beyond surface-level enchantment.
