Planet 51

Planet 51 (2009) inverts the alien invasion trope by placing an Earth astronaut, Capt. Chuck Baker, in the shoes of the extraterrestrial visitor. Arriving on a planet eerily mirroring 1950s American suburbia, Chuck must navigate a culture that venerates him as a deity while evading capture and recovering his spacecraft. Aided by a curious green native, the film blends humor and social commentary into a satirical take on first contact narratives.
