Rick Riker, a socially awkward teenager, gains extraordinary abilities after an encounter with a radioactive dragonfly, transforming him into a reluctant superhero. Opposing him is Lou Landers, who reinvents himself as the absurdly menacing Hourglass, a supervillain with a penchant for the ridiculous. Their clashes in "Superhero Movie" are a blend of campy humor and adolescent wish fulfillment, skewering the tropes of the superhero genre with a wink and a nod.
