The Boy and the Heron

In the shadow of World War II, The Boy and the Heron (2023) observes the dislocation of Mahito, a teenager orphaned by his mother's death, as he is transplanted from Tokyo to the tranquil countryside, where his stepmother Natsuko, eerily reminiscent of his lost mother, awaits.
