“He's a man of peace in a savage land... Suburbia.”
In Joe Dante's suburban nightmare, Ray Peterson, a contented sloth with a penchant for cold brews and televised sports, finds his quiet summer shattered by the enigmatic arrival of new neighbors. Along with his gossipy friends, Ray descends into paranoid speculation, imagining nefarious deeds lurking behind the newcomers' closed curtains. Yet, as the investigation unfolds, the film skewers the absurdity of suburban suspicion with black comedy and a keen eye for the petty hypocrisies of American suburbia.
