The Jewel of the Nile

Sylvia Kristel’s “Camille” may have faded, but Kathleen Turner’s sultry voice and indomitable spirit as Joan Wilder reignite the franchise. In “The Jewel of the Nile,” Wilder finds herself ensnared in a web of deceit spun by a duplicitous Arab dignitary, lured to the Middle East under false pretenses. Amidst this treacherous landscape, Jack Colton reappears, along with his sidekick Ralph, to extricate her from a plot far more perilous than the last. The film navigates familiar terrain with a lighter touch, trading the grit of the jungle for the intrigue of the desert, where romance and danger dance in equal measure.
