Khal Drogo is a chieftain of a Dothraki khalasar in HBO's Game of Thrones, introduced in the first season and portrayed as a fearsome and undefeated warrior of the nomadic horse-lords beyond the Narrow Sea. His marriage to Daenerys Targaryen, arranged through Illyrio Mopatis and Viserys Targaryen, anchors much of the show's early Essos storyline.
Though renowned for his brutality in battle, Drogo comes to respect and love Daenerys as an equal, and pledges to cross the sea to win the Iron Throne for their unborn son. A festering wound and a maegi's blood-magic ultimately leave him incapacitated, and his death becomes the crucible from which Daenerys's dragons are born.
