Ebrose is a supporting character in the seventh and eighth seasons of HBO's Game of Thrones, an Archmaester of the Citadel and one of the governing members of the Order of Maesters. His expertise lies in the healing arts.
At the Citadel he oversees Samwell Tarly, denying him access to the restricted library while conceding that the White Walkers may be real. After Sam secretly cures Jorah Mormont of greyscale, Ebrose spares him expulsion and sets him to copying decaying manuscripts. In the aftermath of the Battle of King's Landing he completes his history of Westeros, which, on Sam's suggestion, is titled A Song of Ice and Fire.
