Lord Janos Slynt was the commander of the City Watch of King's Landing the gold cloaks and the founder of House Slynt. An ambitious and self-serving man of common birth, he rose through royal favor to a seat on the Small Council and, briefly, the title of Lord of Harrenhal.
In Game of Thrones his betrayal of Eddard Stark and his role in the murder of Robert Baratheon's bastards mark him as one of the capital's more disreputable figures.
