Leaf is a Child of the Forest in HBO's Game of Thrones, one of the ancient beings who long ago allied themselves with the Three-Eyed Raven and dwelt for years in the hidden cave beyond the Wall. According to the series, it was Leaf and her kin who created the White Walkers in the distant past, driving dragonglass into a bound man to make the first of them, the Night King, as a weapon against the encroaching First Men.
Quiet and fiercely protective of her people, Leaf saves Bran Stark's party from the wights and guides them to the Raven. When the Night King's army at last assaults the cave, she sacrifices herself, detonating an explosive to cover the others' escape.
