Vala was a prostitute in Meereen and a secret member of the Sons of the Harpy, the masked resistance movement opposed to Daenerys Targaryen's rule. She appeared in the fifth and sixth seasons of Game of Thrones, and was not given a name on screen until the sixth season.
Vala lured the Unsullied soldier White Rat into a fatal ambush and helped set the trap that led to the death of Ser Barristan Selmy. After the Unsullied captured her, she was interrogated by Varys, who secured her cooperation by promising safe passage to Pentos for her and her young son, Dom.
