The Wineseller is a hired assassin in the first season of Game of Thrones who poses as a wine merchant to attempt the murder of Daenerys Targaryen. Operating in the Western Market outside Vaes Dothrak, he acts on King Robert Baratheon's bounty for her death, made possible by Jorah Mormont's earlier spying.
He offers Daenerys a cask of poisoned Arbor wine as a gift, but Jorah, wary of the offering, forces him to taste it first. The wineseller flees and is captured by Rakharo, then bound and dragged behind Daenerys's horse. His attempt is later recalled as evidence of Jorah's betrayal and of Robert Baratheon's enmity toward Daenerys.
