Quirinus Quirrell

Professor Quirinus Quirrell is a half-blood wizard and the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts during the 1991-1992 school year, having previously taught Muggle Studies. A timid, stammering figure, he set out to find the vanquished Lord Voldemort and was instead possessed by him, carrying the Dark Lord's face on the back of his head beneath his turban.

Serving as Voldemort's host and temporary Horcrux, Quirrell attempts to steal the Philosopher's Stone and to kill Harry Potter, dying in the Underground Chambers.
