Remus Lupin, known as Moony, is a wizard in the Harry Potter series and a lifelong sufferer of lycanthropy following a childhood attack by the werewolf Fenrir Greyback. At Hogwarts he was one of the Marauders alongside James Potter, Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew, and he later returned to the school as a celebrated professor of Defence Against the Dark Arts.
A member of the Order of the Phoenix in both wizarding wars, he married Nymphadora Tonks and fathered a son, Teddy, before being killed at the Battle of Hogwarts in 1998. He appears in several of the live-action Harry Potter films; his history is documented on the Harry Potter Wiki, and a chronological account is available in the Timeline.
