Orophin is a Silvan Elf of Lothlorien and one of its march-wardens, a brother of Haldir and Rumil. He guards the western border of the Golden Wood at the time of the War of the Ring and, in Tolkien's account, leaves his brothers to warn the Galadhrim when Gollum is spotted near the sleeping hobbits.
Because he knows little Westron, Orophin has little direct contact with the Fellowship of the Ring. He appears in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), portrayed by Jason Secto.
