Roac is the chief of the great ravens of the Lonely Mountain and the son of Carc, first appearing in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit. By the time of the Battle of Five Armies he is 153 years old.
Roac brings Thorin and Company word that Smaug has been slain and serves as a messenger between Thorin and Dain II Ironfoot. In The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014) he appears but never speaks, seen flying to the Iron Hills and nodding to Thorin to signal the arrival of Dain's forces.
