Ai Hashimoto, born in Kumamoto, broke into the entertainment industry in 2008 after a Sony auditions push by her celebrity-obsessed mother. Disbelieving her victory initially, she quickly found success, modelling for Seventeen and starring in "Give and Go" the following year. Roles in "Confessions" and "Sadako 3D" solidified her status, earning her Rookie of the Year at the 36th Japan Academy Prize in 2013. She ceased modelling in 2014, focusing on acting and her passions: manga, karaoke, and cycling.
