Bernie Mac

Bernie Mac, born Bernard Jeffrey McCullough in Chicago’s South Side, rose to comedic prominence through stand-up and HBO’s Midnight Mac, joining The Original Kings of Comedy. His film career flourished with roles in Ocean's Eleven and Mr. 3000, alongside a lead role in The Bernie Mac Show, earning him two Emmy nominations. Mac’s star power shone in diverse films like Friday, Bad Santa, and Soul Men, balancing comedy and drama. Diagnosed with sarcoidosis, a lung condition, he remained active until his untimely death in 2008 from pneumonia complications.
