Carroll Baker

Carroll Baker, born in 1931, rose to prominence in the 1950s under Elia Kazan's direction in "Baby Doll," marking her as a formidable dramatic actress. A contract with Paramount in the 1960s solidified her status as a sex symbol, notably in "The Carpetbaggers" and the Jean Harlow biopic "Harlow," despite its critical reception. Frustrated by her contract, Baker moved to Italy, where she starred in giallo and horror films, including "The Sweet Body of Deborah" and "Orgasmo." Returning to dramatic roles in the 1980s, she appeared in acclaimed films like "Star 80" and "Native Son." Baker's later career included television roles before her retirement in 2003.
