Denver Pyle

Denver Dell Pyle, born in 1920 in Bethune, Colorado, was a rugged American actor whose career spanned television classics like "The Andy Griffith Show" and the enduringly popular "The Dukes of Hazzard." After dropping out of Colorado State University, Pyle pursued a career in music before his military service during World War II. In civilian life, he found steady work in television, including a memorable turn as Jesse Duke in "The Dukes of Hazzard."
