Edgar Ramírez

Édgar Filiberto Ramírez Arellano, born in 1977, is a Venezuelan actor whose career took a decisive turn when filmmaker Guillermo Arriaga praised a short film he had made, nudging him to pursue acting seriously. He broke through with his role as a CIA assassin in "The Bourne Ultimatum" and cemented his status with a César Award for his portrayal of Carlos the Jackal in the miniseries "Carlos." Further acclaim came for his roles in "Zero Dark Thirty" and "Hands of Stone," but it was his portrayal of Gianni Versace in "The Assassination of Gianni Versace" that garnered him significant critical and award recognition, including a Golden Globe nomination. Beyond acting, Ramírez has also served on the Un Certain Regard jury at the Cannes Film Festival.
