Elizabeth Peña

Elizabeth Peña, born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, in 1959, was an American actress and television director, daughter of theater co-founder Mario Peña. She graduated from New York's High School of Performing Arts in 1977, sharing classes with future stars Ving Rhames and Esai Morales. Peña's career spanned television and film, including roles in "La Bamba," "Lone Star," and "The Incredibles," while also directing episodes for "Resurrection Blvd" and "The Brothers Garcia." Her early work in "El Super" and her recurring collaborations with director Leon Ichaso marked her as a versatile talent. Peña was a founding member of the Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors and starred in the short-lived sitcom "I Married Dora," where the cast announced their cancellation on air. She died in 2014 at the age of 55.
