Emily Cox

Born in Vienna to a British father and an Irish mother, both pianists who had initially migrated for a musicians' grant, Emily Cox navigated a cosmopolitan upbringing before her parents' divorce. Her education culminated at Vienna’s prestigious high school in 2003, where she discovered acting through a school play. After graduation, she enrolled at the Max Reinhardt Seminar and debuted professionally at the Theater in der Josefstadt in 2008. Moving to Berlin in 2011, she diversified her portfolio with roles in German and Austrian television, notably in "Tatort." Cox gained international recognition for her portrayal of Brida, a Viking warrior, in the TV series "The Last Kingdom" since 2015.
