Ewan McGregor, born March 31, 1971, is a Scottish actor who rose to prominence with his role in Trainspotting and further solidified his status with Star Wars. His career has spanned genres, from the musical Moulin Rouge! to the thriller Angels and Demons, and he earned critical acclaim for his nuanced performances in The Ghost Writer and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen. McGregor ventured into directing with American Pastoral, and his dual role in Fargo won him a Golden Globe. His versatility continued with voice work in Beauty and the Beast and reprising Obi-Wan Kenobi in Disney+'s miniseries, for which he won an Emmy. Beyond his screen presence, McGregor has been a UNICEF UK ambassador since 2004.
