Geraldine Chaplin

Geraldine Chaplin, born in 1944 as the first child of Charlie Chaplin and Oona O’Neill, transitioned from dance and modeling to a film career that flourished with her Golden Globe-nominated role in David Lean’s "Doctor Zhivago." Her Broadway debut in "The Little Foxes" was followed by diverse roles across international cinema, including Queen Nefertiti in Raúl Araiza’s "Nefertiti and Akhenaton" and a BAFTA-nominated performance in "Welcome to L.A." Chaplin's portrayal of her grandmother in "Chaplin" earned her another Golden Globe nod, while her partnership with Spanish director Carlos Saura yielded acclaimed films such as "Cría Cuervos." Her work in Spanish and French cinema, including Jacques Rivette’s experimental films, culminated in a Goya Award for "En la ciudad sin límites" and the Gold Medal from the Spanish Academy in 2006.
