Giorgos Oikonomou was born in 1935 in Kapandriti and studied at the Drama School of the Karolos Koun Theatre Art, but graduated from the Pelos Katseli Drama School in 1958. He also studied cinema at the Lykourgos Stavrakos School. Founder and leader of the Artistic Pioneer Group, presenting various plays and children's theater in the province. He was involved in directing in theater and cinema and in film and television productions. In addition to theater, he wrote plays for children, radio shows and scripts.
