Hal Holbrook
Hal Holbrook, an American actor, television director, and writer, rose to prominence in 1954 with his one-man stage show "Mark Twain Tonight!", earning a Tony Award in 1966 for his portrayal of Mark Twain. He performed this signature role for over six decades before retiring in 2017 due to health issues. Holbrook's career spans diverse roles, from Deep Throat in "All the President's Men" to Abraham Lincoln in "Lincoln" and "North and South." His portrayal of Ron Franz in "Into the Wild" earned him Academy and SAG Award nominations, while he was also recognized with five Primetime Emmy Awards. In 2003, President George W. Bush honored Holbrook with the National Humanities Medal for his contributions to the arts.
