Hugo Weaving

Hugo Weaving, born in Colonial Nigeria to English parents in 1960, has spent his entire career in Australia, accruing six AACTA Awards and an Honorary Officer of the Order of Australia title. His breakthrough came with the television series Bodyline in 1984, followed by critical acclaim for Proof and The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. By the new millennium, Weaving had secured global recognition through roles in The Matrix, The Lord of the Rings, and Captain America, alongside voice work in Babe, Happy Feet, and the Transformers franchise. His versatility and range have solidified his status as one of Australia's most distinguished actors.
