Kiyoshi Kurosawa, born in Kobe in 1955, is a multifaceted figure in Japanese cinema, known for his directorial work, screenwriting, and academia. His films, characterized by ambiguous narratives and a keen focus on psychological turmoil, have solidified his reputation in the realm of psychological horror and Japanese horror, with "Cure" standing as a seminal work from 1997.
