Lam Suet
Born in Tianjin in 1964, Lam Suet immigrated to Hong Kong in 1979, only to squander his inheritance and take odd jobs. In the mid-1980s, he found work on film sets, eventually transitioning to acting through relentless persistence and introductions by Stephen Chow and Johnnie To. Known for his bulk and comedic presence, Lam has appeared in over 80 films since 1996, with a standout in Johnnie To's "Breaking News" as a bumbling taxi driver. Collaborations with To, such as "The Mission" and "PTU," earned him accolades including Best Supporting Actor nominations and the Golden Bauhinia Award. Beyond To's films, his roles in "Wu Yen" and "Diva — Ah Hey" showcase his versatility, cementing his status as a beloved character actor.
