Laura Gemser

Laura Gemser, born in Java, Indonesia, in 1950, is a Dutch-based actress of Indo descent, celebrated for her roles in exploitation cinema, particularly in the Black Emmanuelle series. Moving to the Netherlands at four, she trained as a fashion designer before transitioning to modeling and eventually to acting. Gemser's breakthrough came in the 1970s with Joe D'Amato and Bruno Mattei's films, followed by a more mainstream role in "Love Is Forever" (1983) as Keo Sirisomphone. She continued to work in film and television, occasionally collaborating with her actor husband Gabriele Tinti, before shifting to costume design in the 1990s. Today, she resides in Rome, remembered for her striking presence in the cult classic genre.
