Lea Katherine Thompson, born May 31, 1961, is an American actress, singer, dancer, and director, best remembered for her turn as Lorraine Baines-McFly in the Back to the Future trilogy, alongside roles in Howard the Duck and Some Kind of Wonderful. Her filmography includes All the Right Moves, Red Dawn, Dennis the Menace, and The Beverly Hillbillies, alongside a starring role in the sitcom Caroline in the City during the 1990s. In the 2010s, Thompson transitioned to television as Kathryn Kennish in the critically acclaimed series Switched at Birth.
