Lynn Whitfield

Lynn Whitfield, born in 1953, is an American actress whose career spanned television, theatre, and film. She gained recognition with her Emmy-winning portrayal of Josephine Baker in "The Josephine Baker Story" (1991). Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Whitfield starred in a variety of television movies and theatrical releases, including "A Thin Line Between Love and Hate," "Eve's Bayou," and "Greenleaf," earning critical acclaim and several NAACP Image Awards. Her versatility and commanding presence continued into the 2010s and 2020s, with roles in "Nappily Ever After" and "Vacation Friends.
