Marisa Tomei

Marisa Tomei, born December 4, 1964, is an American actress whose career took flight with her Oscar-winning performance in "My Cousin Vinny" (1992). Her early roles included soap opera appearances and a stint on "A Different World" before she transitioned to film, where she starred in a range of genres, from drama to comedy, in films such as "Chaplin," "The Paper," and "The Wrestler," earning additional Academy Award nominations. Tomei's stage work is equally notable, including founding the Naked Angels Theater Company and starring in Broadway productions like "Wait Until Dark" and "Top Girls," for which she received a Drama Desk Award nomination.
