Michael Jai White

Michael Jai White, born in 1967, is an American actor and martial artist whose career spans film, television, and voice work. A martial arts prodigy who began training at seven, he holds seven black belts and is best known for his role as Al Simmons in the 1997 film Spawn, marking the first major comic book superhero portrayal by an African-American actor. His breakthrough came in HBO's Tyson, followed by collaborations with action stars like Jean-Claude Van Damme and Steven Seagal. Beyond his screen presence, White writes and directs, notably for the films Black Dynamite and the upcoming 3 Bullets. His versatility extends to voice acting in animated series like Static Shock and Justice League. Off-screen, White is a chess enthusiast, balancing family life with his two sons and daughter.
