Nitesh Tiwari, born on May 22, 1973, is a versatile Indian filmmaker whose career spans direction and screenwriting, with Dangal marking his zenith. His debut, co-directing Chillar Party in 2011, earned him a National Film Award. The supernatural political drama Bhoothnath Returns followed in 2014, but it was Dangal in 2016 that catapulted him to international acclaim, screening at prominent festivals and grossing over ₹2,000 crore worldwide, with significant earnings in China.
