Paul Reubens

Paul Reubens, born in 1952, rose to prominence through his iconic character Pee-wee Herman, a manic, childlike figure he developed within The Groundlings in the 1970s. The character's debut on HBO and in a sold-out Los Angeles show catapulted Reubens to cult status, leading him to star in Tim Burton's "Pee-wee's Big Adventure" in 1985, a critical and financial success that solidified his fame. Despite the lesser reception of the sequel, Reubens continued to entertain audiences through Pee-wee's Playhouse on CBS from 1986 to 1990, maintaining the character's singular persona both on and off-screen.
