Peggy Lipton

Peggy Lipton, born Margaret Ann Lipton in 1946, rose to prominence in the late 1960s as a model and actress, overcoming an early stutter to become an icon of the era. Her breakthrough came with "The Mod Squad," where she played Julie Barnes, one of three young undercover cops addressing social issues of the time. The show's interracial cast and progressive themes earned her four Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe. After marrying music producer Quincy Jones in 1974, she stepped away from acting but returned to star in David Lynch's "Twin Peaks" decades later.
