Rachel Skarsten

Rachel Skarsten, born in Toronto in 1985, is a Canadian actress fluent in Norwegian and English, who graduated from Queen's University with degrees in English Literature and Classical Studies. Her career took off with a starring role as Dinah Lance/Black Canary in the WB series Birds of Prey in 2002, followed by the role of Tamsin, a volatile Fae, in Syfy’s Lost Girl, which ran for five seasons. Skarsten garnered critical acclaim for her portrayal of Elizabeth I in the CW series Reign, earning a Canadian Screen Award nomination. She continued to explore complex characters in her role as Beth Kane/Alice, a conflicted sister turned nemesis in Batwoman, showcasing her range across diverse and demanding roles.
